Volunteers wanted!

Help us map the biodiversity of Noord-Brabant

Leenderbos2.jpg

This year, ARISE and Staatsbosbeheer are working together on a biodiversity project in the Leenderbos and the Groote Heide (North Brabant). Placing a number of different insect traps in these areas will provide insights into biodiversity and nature management, but also valuable new species for the Dutch DNA reference database that ARISE is building. Read this blog for more information. This project is expected to yield around 50,000 samples to be processed, which will also be photographed.

For this project we are looking for:

Volunteers for sampling
(minimum 16 hours - maximum 32 hours per week)

What you will do:

You will help with one of the following tasks:
- photographing,
- registration
- or preparing the physical specimens for DNA extraction in the lab.
You do this under continuous supervision.

Would you like to make a voluntary contribution to understanding and preserving our biodiversity? Would you like to learn how to work with material from insect traps in the lab?
